The JARC Training Center for the Metalworking Trades is expanding and for the October arts tour their unfinished space will serve as a gallery to several artists without studios. See arts and industry in action at this venue!

Exhibiting artists: Kita Atabaki, Molly Cranch, Jean Fitzgerald, Victoria Szilagyi, and Vassilen Vasevski.

The Jane Addams Resource Corporation hosts "Art to Part," an after school youth program in Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing. Also on view, Haas CNC (Computer Numerate Control) Milling Machine Class between 12 and 5pm on Saturday, October 6. The class is for visitor’s viewing only.

JARC is a not for profit community-based organization. "Art to Part" is one of several technical training programs for adults and youth in manufacturing technology. Others include CNC machining (programming, setup, and operation), MIG and TIG welding, punch press setup and operation, Computer-Aided Design with Solidworks, and forklift operation and safety.

This year JARC’s after school program will add training in programmable logic controllers (PLC’s) and robotics. See www.jane-addams.org for information about our many other programs.

Haas Factory Outlet is a division of Arthur Machinery, Inc., an industrial machine manufacturer. The scheduled class is for JARC instructors to earn their NIMS certification, which stands for National Institute for Metalworking Skills. This is an industry association that provides training, accreditation and credentialing to industry members.
