Jewels Cycle 4-2007

"I am interested in process when I create. I let the piece metamorphose as I am working on it.

In creating this series of paintings, I am working with color transparencies, layering colors and textures to produce jewel-like glowing canvases. Even though these canvases are abstract, I hope the viewer will see landscapes, cityscapes, and vaious mysteries hidden within these works that create continued interest in these pieces.

I have been influenced by the qualities in the paintings of Gustav Klimt and the glass and ceramics of Louis Comfort Tiffany."
